\"ASFHappy holidays, everyone!\u00a0 I’m delighted to present the first of a series of podcasts devoted to your questions and comments in response to ASF’s 15th anniversary and the end of our marathon fourth season.<\/p>\n

Originally this was supposed <\/em>to be a one-part thing, but… well, you know me.\u00a0 And it’s your own darn fault for asking such great questions and making so many useful and interesting critiques and observations. It would’ve been churlish for me to just toss ’em off with a one-liner or two.<\/p>\n

And as I mention in the podcast, I really really did try to answer all questions at once. That episode rehearsal took nearly 4 hours.\u00a0 I mean, seriously.\u00a0 As enthralled as I’m sure you’ll all be by my voice, I couldn’t\u00a0possibly hope to captivate you that <\/em>much.<\/p>\n

So this time around, I take a more general overview of life in Schuyler Falls and behind the scenes. I start by\u00a0reminiscing about how life was back in when dinosaurs still roamed the earth and ASF was about to premiere.<\/p>\n

Next I thank someone who’s been too little recognized for her contributions to ASF.\u00a0 Well, not by me, I hope, but I don’t think ASF’s readers realize just how much this serial is the product of a partnership,\u00a0particularly during its creation and formative years.<\/p>\n

Then it’s time for some statistics… and what daunting ones they are!\u00a0 Can you guess how many words you’ve read if you’re one of the intrepid folks who’ve read all episodes from #1.01 (“Last Call”) to #4.63 (“Torn Asunder”)?\u00a0 You’ll be shocked! I know I was.<\/p>\n

And then it’s time for the firing line, starting with some pointed observations from longtime reader Dana, who marveled at the absurdity of Season One and how unwieldy ASF can be at times.\u00a0 Then a chance for me to preen and then\u00a0plea for mercy\u00a0thanks to Dallas, who asked for some highs… followed by the lows, alas!\u00a0 Finally it’s back to Dana for her question, which was simply: Why the heck is ASF still around?\u00a0 (Okay, okay, she asked it more nicely than that — she wanted to know what’s kept me working on ASF for so long.)<\/p>\n
